Assignment 02

Crazy 8's Workshop

Crazy 8's Takeaway
The crazy 8's workshop helped me form ideas about new visual possibilities for the application. I wanted this project to be more exploratory and fun, so I asked my peers for more speculative suggestions.

One of the interesting suggestions that I got was a visualization of a candle which would burn or dim as a reflection of the person's 'burnout' status. I want to riff off of this idea visually, using the candle as a representation of health. As well, the concept of light from a candle being the "light at the end of the tunnel".

Another interesting suggestion I got was to allow users to create journal entries about their activities. This would result in the application picking out keywords and feelings to narrow down the results to what the user would want. I think journal entries would result in app overload, but I like the idea of having keywords and feelings to readjust to the user's needs.

Low Fidelity Wireframes

I began my process with a preliminary user flow to figure out what kind of screens and experiences I would need to sketch out. After figuring that out, I sketched the core screens and wrote down thoughts and ideas for later use. The screens I sketched consisted of: Chatbot, notifications, activity list, calendar view, map view, feedback, homepage, and profile screen. After sketching the low-fidelity wireframes, I revised the user flow to be closer to what I imagined was a smoother experience.

Notes
After receiving feedback on the mid-fidelity prototype, I realized I was missing a crucial part of the flow. 'What was next?', the experience after a user participated in an activity.

Revising the flow, I included a user feedback portion where users could leave their review on the experience of the activity through keyword-feelings. This would then lead to the application suggesting new things based on how you felt. I think I want to exclude number or star ratings as each user has different personalities and preferences, which means experiences aren't always going to be 10/10.

Lastly, I thought about incorporating a reshuffle activities button press so the user doesn't have to keep pressing the candle button. I've yet to include the profile screen section as the experience is mainly generating activities and readjusting them.
